Eligibility Criteria for DSSSB Jail Warder 2025
Educational Qualification: Candidates must meet educational and physical standards to apply for the Jail Warder position under the Delhi Prisons Department. The minimum academic qualification is passing 10+2 or Senior Secondary from a recognized school board or institution.
Age Limit: The age limit for DSSSB Jail Warder is 18 to 27 years. Relaxation is given to SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen as per the following rules.
- SC/ST – 5 years (upper limit 32 years)
- OBC – 3 years (upper limit 30 years)
- PwBD (general) – 10 years
- PwBD (OBC) – 13 years

DSSSB Jail Warder Physical Standards
Height: For physical standards, male applicants must have a minimum height of 170 cm. However, those from Gorkha, Garhwali, Dogra, or Scheduled Tribe communities are allowed a 5 cm relaxation.
Chest: Chest measurement is at least 81 cm in normal condition, with a mandatory expansion of 5 cm. So, if the chest is 81 cm unexpanded, it should reach at least 86 cm when expanded. There is no maximum limit on chest measurement.
DSSSB Warder Physical Endurance Test (PET) Requirements
Candidates applying for the Jail Warder post must clear a physical endurance test during selection. The PET consists of the race, long jump, and high jump.
- Race: The test begins with a 1600-meter run that must be completed within 6 minutes. Candidates aged 31 or below must finish the 1600-meter run in 6 minutes, those aged 31 to 40 in 7 minutes, and those aged 40 in 8 minutes.
- Long Jump: In the long jump, the requirement is 13 feet for those up to 31 years, 12 feet for the 31–40 group, and 11 feet for candidates over 40. For ex-servicemen, the standards vary by age.
- High Jump: For the high jump, the bar is set at 3’9” for up to 31 years, 3’6” for those between 31 and 40, and 3’3” for applicants above 40.
DSSSB Jail Warder Application Fee
The application fee is Rs 100 for Unreserved and EWS applicants. The Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen are exempted. However, Ex-Servicemen already in govt jobs after availing of the reservation don’t get this exemption.
Payment of the DSSSB Jail Warder Application Fee is acceptable only via SBI e-pay. Other methods will lead to rejection. The fee, once paid, is non-refundable.
